Lindsay Rae Rollett

As Lindsay Rae Campbell, she was born at Grimsby, Lincolnshire in January 1953, daughter of Raymond Campbell (22 September 1928-1 December 2020) and his wife Sheila A. née Darnell, who married at St James's Church, Grimsby on 20 March 1952. Lindsay married at St Peter's Church, Humberston, Grimsby in March 1980, Andrew Charles Rollett, and paints under the name of Lindsay Rae Rollett. She studied at Farnham Art Institute, now West Surrey College of Art & Design, gaining a degree in Fine Art, and at the University of Bristol gaining a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Lindsay has held teaching posts in several Colleges and Middle Schools across East Anglia and, after teaching for many years, has been gradually building ‘A New Creation – Art’. She works in a variety of two-dimensional media but prefers printmaking, which allows her to design, draw, gouge and use colour and texture, she also paints using oil pastels, preferring bold colours, and merging techniques. Her recent works have included mosaics, mixing the usual glass tesserae with collected items such as flints, pebbles, and buttons. She now runs small Art and Mosaic groups from her studio at 'Lindru', Bury Road, Beyton, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk and at Smiths Row Art Gallery in Bury St Edmund's. Lindsay is a printmaker, painter and mosaicist and supports 'Vision' in the delivery of art-based workshops and is a former member of Suffolk Open Studios. She has exhibited in Suffolk at Apex Gallery; Highwayman's Gallery, Risby and Blackthorpe Barn, Rougham as well as being one of ten in an 'Exhibition of Fine Art' at Hessett also in the Winter Exhibition in Edmund Gallery and at St Peter's Church, Sudbury. A member of Gainsborough's House Print Workshop.
