Marie Limb

As Marie L. Ball, she was born in the Great Yarmouth, Norfolk district in 1950 and spent her childhood in Gorleston-on-sea and Southwold in Suffolk where her maternal grandparents lived. As Marie Gibbons, she married at Spilsbury, Lincolnshire in 1994, Charles Richard Limb (born 1948) and now paints under the name of Marie Limb. Marie enjoys the process of producing a pleasing piece of textile art and, alongside her love of pastel painting, she now has worthwhile and demanding hobbies. Her inspirations usually come from nature especially trees and leaves but any ‘odd angles’ in exploring the more unusual types of Art presentations, can lead to an abstract or surreal piece of work. Marie won the John Simpson Memorial Award at the Southwold Art Circle exhibition in 2010 for her pastel 'Heads held High'. Her work is exhibited at the Lowestoft Arts Centre, and she is a member of the newly formed Tin Hut Textiles which is based in and around Suffolk and Norfolk and Marie works from her studio at 15 Woodfield Close, Beccles, Suffolk.
