OSHELDA, Anne-Marie
Anne-Marie Oshelda was born in Vienna on 8 December 1959. She came to London in January 1980 and studied on a three-year Art Foundation Course at John Cass School of Art in London and in 2007 a one-day workshop with pastel artist Ken Paine (1926-2020) who introduced her to portraiture. She has been developing her drawing abilities since childhood and her studies led her to explore the possibilities of colour, experimenting with different methods and media but her usual medium is oil paints. Anne-Marie is continuing to explore and to capture the spirit & movement of the subject matter in all her paintings including equestrian and wildlife painting, however her favourite and most powerful is the sea and its marine subjects. A member of the Ipswich Art Society and exhibited from The Nook, Babbs Green, Wareside, Ware, Hertfordshire in 2006, an oil 'Swan in the Reeds' and is a regular exhibitor. She has also exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and the Royal West of England Academy as well as Buckenham Galleries, Southwold; Snape Maltings Galleries and Angel Gallery, Lavenham, all in Suffolk, also showing at Llewellyn Alexander Gallery, London; The Gallery on the Corner, 137 High Street, Chelmsford and the Beecroft Art Gallery, Southend-on-Sea, both in Essex with annual exhibitions in East Anglia and Hertfordshire. She lives in Ware, Hertfordshire with her husband artist George William Gill.
