RINTOUL, Maryrose
As Mary Rose E. E. Milford, she was born in the Greenwich district of London in 1933, daughter of Dr Roy Douglas Milford (7 September 1901-1982), general medical practitioner, and his wife Jessie Bruce née Rhind (25 August 1902-1972), who married at Greenwich in 1930. Mary Rose married at Romford, Essex in 1964, Russell Campbell Rintoul (born 1926) and works under the name of Maryrose Rintoul. Maryrose was first taught botanical drawing by Shirley Smith and at workshops at the University Botanical Gardens, Cambridge. An artist in botanical subjects in water-colour and drawings in silverpoint. Since 1988 she has exhibited with the Society of Botanical Artists; the Royal Horticultural Society, Vincent Square and at Snape Maltings Galleries at Snape Maltings and her more decorative designs have been published by the Medici Society & Henry Ling & Sons Ltd. A member of and exhibitor at the Southwold Art Circle and she lives at Frostenden, near Beccles in Suffolk and donated to the Westhall Secret Postcard Auction in 2013 a pen sketch 'Fairy Tale Swan'.
