COOPER, Ed
Edward William Cooper was born at Ipswich in 1976, son of Martin Bernard Cooper (December 1948-) and his wife Elizabeth née Millar, who married at Kensington, London in 1974. Ed, as he is known, was educated at St Helens Primary School and Northgate High School, Ipswich and then studied general art and design at Ipswich School of Art 1994-1996, going on to complete a degree in Painting and Drawing at Swansea College of Art. Following his degree, he returned to Ipswich in 2000, taking various office jobs but continued painting until in 2006, when he focused solely on his art, studying the theory of drawing and painting, and taking regular life drawing classes. In 2009, he completed his Post Graduate Certificate in Education at the University Campus Suffolk, now University of Suffolk at Ipswich, and now instructs adults in several classes, sharing his great enthusiasm for painting, drawing, and working from the life model. In recent years Ed has focused on the surrounding landscape and simple still life arrangements and is a member of the Ipswich Art Society and has also exhibited at Ipswich Tourist Information Centre; Halesworth Gallery; Eyestorm Gallery, Clerkenwell Road, London; Ferini Art Gallery, Pakenham, with solo shows at St Mary-at-the-Quay, Ipswich and at the Frame Workshop & Gallery, Ipswich and elsewhere.
