STOREY, Dooze
Rachel Anne Storey was born at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1972, daughter of Edward Storey and his wife Philippa née Conroy, who married in Surrey in 1968. Dooze, as she was known, studied fine art at Chester College and Staffordshire University and from 1992 lived with artist Kelvin Bowers (born 1946) in Staffordshire and, after a brief period in Languedoc, France, in 1995 moved to St Ives, Cornwall and in 2000 they were living at Sea Mews Nest, Tregenna Terrace, St Ives, Cornwall before moving to Ventnor Terrace, St Ives. Dooze had a solo exhibition at Salthouse Gallery, Norway Square, Saint Ives, Cornwall in 1995; another at Galeria Punkt, Gdansk, Poland in 1996 and in the same year included in a St Ives exhibition at David Holmes Contemporary Art, Peterborough. Other mixed exhibitions include Collyer Bristow Gallery, London; The Millinery Works Gallery, London; The Millenium Gallery, St Ives and Belgrave St Ives, . Her French experience influenced a decision to step back from showing paintings and instead to focus on developing a large body of work, some of which can be seen at Cricket Fine Art in Chelsea. https://www.cricketfineart.co.uk
