Bob Rudd

Robert J. Rudd was born at Ipswich on 18 January 1944, son of Alfred Robert Rudd (26 April 1908-1982), a main electric linesman, and his wife Marcia Joan Parsons (29 November 1914-1991), eldest daughter of Horace Parsons of The Hill, Lakenheath, who married at St Mary's Church, Lakenheath, Suffolk on 25 December 1937. In 1939 they were living at 'Rosemary', Pettistree, near Woodbridge, Suffolk. Bob, as he is known, studied at Ipswich School of Art 1960-1963 and Bath Academy of Art, Corsham 1969-1973 and took up as a freelance artist in 1985. An artist in watercolour and in oil being elected a member of the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in 1995 where he exhibited also showing at Beaux Arts, 12-13 York Street, Bath; Royal West of England Academy from 1988; Roy Miles Gallery, 29 Bruton Street, London; Singer & Friedlander/Sunday Times' Watercolour Competition and Flying Colours Gallery, Edinburgh with solo exhibitions at John Martin Gallery London in 1996. He married at Kings Lynn, Norfolk in 1967, Jennifer B. Cuff (born 1944) and they lived at 38 The Causeway, Chippenham, Wiltshire.
