Richard Hoare

Richard Francis Hoare was born at Ipswich on 17 February 1967, his mother's maiden name was King. Richard was educated at Stowe School, Buckinghamshire 1981-1985 and completed a foundation course at the Cambridge College of Art and Technology 1986-1987, gaining a first honours degree at Kent Institute of Art and Design, Canterbury 1987-1990, and a postgraduate diploma at Cyprus College of Art 1992-1993. Richard taught at the Royal Blind School 1991, voluntary classes at Botosani, Romania 1995 and drawing workshops in Brazil 1997-1998. A painter who has had mixed shows at Postcard Exhibition at Collective Art Gallery, Edinburgh, Goria Gallery, Nicosia and Ten Young Painters, John Martin Gallery and Dorset Art Week, with solo exhibitions at Salisbury Library and Galleries and at the 54 The Gallery, 54 Shepherd Market, London W1J 7QX and elsewhere. Richard’s work is held in public collections, such as Wiltshire County Council, C. Hoare & Co. Bank, Fleet Street, London, The Bridgeman Art Library, The Lowther Art Collection, Falmouth Art Gallery. He lived at High Street, Shaftesbury, Dorset.
