UPMINSTER ART SOCIETY
Upminster Art Society was established in 1955 and is a small enthusiastic group of all abilities and a former president was Marcus Holley Ford. This is now probably the Arts Society Havering, which is a member of The Arts Society. The Arts Society Havering is a friendly group, who meet every month from September to June in the New Windmill Hall in Upminster. They enjoy high quality illustrated and wide-ranging lectures, special events and volunteering activities and they arrange visits to national galleries and historic buildings as well as trips abroad. They hold illustrated lectures with experts, chosen for their knowledge, presentational skills and entertainment value, to speak on a huge variety of topics: architecture, artists and designers, china, glass, painting, music, furniture, sculpture, jewellery, and more.
