Laura Beardsell-Moore

Laura Michelle Beardsell was born at Thurrock, Essex in November 1978, daughter of Stephen Charles Beardsell (1952-) and his wife Margaret V. née Spear (1953-), who married at Thurrock in 1972. Laura grew up in the small village of Elmsett, near Hadleigh, in Suffolk. She studied at the Winchester School of Art, gaining a B.A. (hons), Art and History of Art in 2001, followed by a master's degree in Contemporary Art, Criticism and Philosophy at the University of Essex in 2004. Laura has worked as an art teacher for GCSE and 'A' level students, a lecturer for B.A. (hons) Fine Art students and, until a few years ago, was a member of the Association of Art Historians. Her work is influenced by the natural world, often exploring environmental themes. She has exhibited at the Ipswich Art Society; Frame Workshop & Gallery, Ipswich; Freudian Sheep Gallery, Ipswich; The 1912 Centre, Cow Lane, Harwich, Essex; Kerseys Solicitors, Ipswich and elsewhere with a solo exhibition at Woodbridge Library, Suffolk in 2016. She has also exhibited at Felixstowe Art on the Prom with Wivenhoe, Essex artist Dr Margriet van Nieuwburg.
