DE SOET, Arnoldus
Arnoldus de Soet was born in Antwerp, Belgium on 18 July 1924. He obtained the assignment to create a painting as a wedding present for Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and was a member of the Ipswich Art Club from 20 Well Street, Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk and exhibited in 1979, two paintings 'Bradfield St George' and 'Pin Mill' and the following year had four pictures on show 'Estuary', 'Oranje Sluisen', 'Durgerdam' and 'Magnolias' and was a regular annual exhibitor, showing from 5 Sherborne Road, Bury St Edmund's in 1990, four pictures 'Cley, Norfolk', 'Southwold Harbour', 'Fishing Boats' and 'Spring Flowers'. Also, a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1979-1980, from Bury St Edmund's. He married secondly at Bury St Edmund's in 1991, Betty Apter née Symonds. Arnoldus de Soet died at 5 Sherborne Road, Bury St Edmund's on 17 November 1994, and his wife went to live at 62 All Saints Road, Newmarket, Suffolk.
