GORDON, Leslie Arthur
Leslie Arthur Gordon was born at Islington, London on 26 February 1922, son of Arthur Gordon (28 December 1884-10 April 1970), a bank messenger, and his wife Ella Mary née Nunn (12 August 1887-6 April 1969), who married at Islington in 1913. In 1939, Leslie was an apprentice colour etcher, living at 6 Seddon Road, Merton, Surrey with his parents. He married in the Lothingland district of Suffolk in 1971, Mary Constance Allen. A member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1964-1972 from Norwich and from 34 Upper Olland Street, Bungay, Suffolk. Gordon also designed sets for the Claxton Opera including for 'Carmina Burana' and 'Dido and Aeneas'. Leslie Arthur Gordon died in Norwich in 2001. [illustrations supplied by Richard Taylor]
