McLAREN, Alan Robert
Alan Robert McLaren was born at Cuckfield, Sussex on 10 April 1902, only son of Frederick Robert McLaren (5 November 1865-29 January 1956), a shop proprietor, and his wife Helen Beal (16 June 1862-17 November 1960), youngest daughter of John Beal of Apsley Lodge, Wellington Road, Brighton, who married at Brighton, Sussex in March 1901. In 1911, Alan was an 8-year-old, living at Hawardon, Cuckfield with his parents, 45-year-old Frederick and 38-year-old Helen. He married at Lyddington Parish Church, Rutland in July 1924, Kitty Mary Dalton (30 January 1899-1996) and in 1939 Alan was 'on private means & poultry farmer', living at Gough's Farm, Frostenden, Southwold, Suffolk with his wife. A member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1947-1950 from Frostenden. Alan Robert McLaren died at 36 Field Stile Road, Southwold, Suffolk on 17 May 1972.
