ROGERS, Mary Georgiana Helen
As Mary Georgiana Helen McNeill, she was born at Stanley Grange, Stanley-cum-Wrenthorpe, Yorkshire on 27 January 1871 and baptised on 1 March 1871, fifth child of Captain Duncan McNeill (10 July 1836-10 June 1924) a captain in the Scots Greys and later Chief Constable of West Riding, Yorkshire, and his wife Fanny Charlotte Emma Talbot (1841-31 October 1913), daughter of Rear-Admiral George Talbot, who married at Queenstown, Cork, Ireland on 6 June 1861. In 1871, Mary was a newly born, living at Stanley Grange, with her parents, 34-year-old Duncan and 29-year-old Fanny, with siblings Malcolm 9, Duncan Alexander 7, Fanny Cecil Talbot 6 and Charles Fitzroy Ponsonby 4. Mary married at St Paul, Wilton Place, Knightsbridge, London on 30 April 1896, Joseph Fox Tarratt (1869-31 October 1898), and they had two children, William Stewart Tarratt (1897-1916) and Duncan McNeill Fox Tarratt (1898-1917). Her husband died at Ellery, South Knapdate, Argyllshire, Scotland in 1898, aged 29 and she married secondly at Kettering, Northamptonshire on 19 May 1903, Revd Henry Rogers (13 December 1860-4 March 1940) and they had one son, Revd Henry Richard Rogers (24 March 1904-1997). A member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Club 1912-1924 from Kirkley, Suffolk and from Coltishall, Norfolk. In 1939, she was living at Coltishall Hall with her husband Revd Henry Rogers. Mary Georgiana Helen Rogers died at Ellary Achahoish, Lochgilphead, Argyllshire on 12 June 1950.
