SEYMOUR, Dorothy
As Dorothy Violet Wright she was born at Erpingham, Norfolk on 23 June 1915, daughter of Frederick Wright (6 May 1877-26 October 1942), an overseer, and his wife Jessie Mary F. Wells (6 December 1876-1947), who married at Aysham, Norfolk in 1903 and in 1939 were living at 722a Rosebank Avenue, Hornchurch, Essex. In 1939, Dorothy was a theatre sister at the Royal Cornwall Infirmary, Truro, Cornwall and as Dorothy Wright, she married at Oxford the following year, Jack Seymour (14 July 1913-3 February 2004), a technical engineer, and painted under the name of Dorothy Seymour. A member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1964-1970 from Thelnetham, Suffolk. By 2002 she was living at 2a Lime Tree Avenue, Norwich, Norfolk with her husband Jack, who died in 2004. Dorothy Violet Seymour died at Norwich on 22 October 2014, aged 99.
