NORTH, Margie

? - ?

Margie North, as a child was given a ‘paint by numbers kit’ but I refused to follow the instructions. Later on her painting of a Cornish Harbour was selected by the Royal Academy’s School’s exhibition and was praised for its use of colour. For forty years as a teacher and headteacher she encouraged children to express themselves through the Creative Arts. Since retirement she has been on several courses and is able to spend time expressing herself through paint. Wivenhoe in Essex and Walberswick in Suffolk are her favoured places to paint when she captures the feel of a place through colour and texture whatever the work medium. A member of the Walberswick Open Studios and of the Colchester Art Society.
