ROYAL HARWICH YACHT CLUB
The Royal Harwich Yacht founded the Woolverstone, Ipswich Project in 1993, the year of the Club’s 150th Anniversary and the RHYC Art Group was founded by the late Sue Rolls at Woolverstone in 2009, a graduate in Fine Art and Design. They meet once a month on Saturdays, with tutors present at some sessions, to help artistic skills, members can work in any medium and provide their own materials including oils, acrylic, watercolour, pen and ink, pencils, pastels and collage, etc. and in the summer they have several sessions 'en plein air'. They hold an annual exhibition of about fifty of the latest works usually around the first bank holiday in early May. Members are amateurs who have found that the stimulation of working together has helped develop their artistic skills and they welcome all newcomers whatever their level of skill. A tutor at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club is Anne Plummer and members included Anna Block; Amanda Portway; Anthea Power; Ann Ringrose; Paul Rodhouse and Robin Sterndale-Bennett.
