Lizzie Jackson

Lizzie Jackson was born at Muswell Hill, London in August 1945. Lizzie studied at Hornsey College of Art for her B.A. in Fine Art and went to work as a House Designer for a kitchenware manufacturer. Her designs were sold in Selfridges, Liberty and Fenwicks, in London and during the 1970s, Lizzie worked in the fashion industry as a model and continued to pursue her creative passions by designing such items from housewares to accessories and hats. In 1985, Lizzie together with her young daughter Kate, moved to Bury St Edmund's in Suffolk and when daughter Kate left for university and to pursue a singing career, Lizzie began to concentrate on her artwork. Her artworld is populated by sexy, colourful, voluptuous women surrounded by adoring men with her fun-loving and honest style delighting in social scenes, either at the beach or in the bar. Lizzies paintings have been exhibited at several galleries in East Anglia including Elsey's Gallery, Bury St Edmunds. Lizzie was one of the participants of the Bury Art Trail organised by curator and gallery owner Cate Hadley which took place on 8 May-27 May 2015.
