Cate Hadley

Catherine Margaret Hadley was born at Birmingham in 1955, daughter of Kenneth William Hadley (1929-28 January 2016) and his wife Margaret T. Field, who married at Birmingham in 1954. Cate studied at Moseley Art School graduating B.Ed in Special Needs Education 1966-1973 and trained in Art and paints under the name of Cate Hadley. In 1980, Cate moved to East Anglia and after a brief spell in the north, once again settled in Suffolk. Cate has taught art in schools, colleges, and privately in workshops and with individuals and has also given talks, made art inspired clothes, and promoted other artists through gallery exhibitions and special projects. She now concentrates on her own practice with the Suffolk landscape as an inspiration, its shifting seasons, the large fields and trees bursting into leaf. Cate works in acrylics, pastel with larger 2D pieces in oils and some small watercolour studies with all her work for sale privately or through exhibitions. A member of the Bury St Edmund's Art Society and at Elsey's Gallery in Bury St Edmunds
