GUEST, John

1964 - ?

John Guest was born and raised in in Barnsley. He studied on a Foundation Course in Art and Design at Barnsley and then studied fine art painting at St Martin's School of Art 1974-1977 followed by a Master's at the Royal College of Art and won the Trident Fellowship in 1981. Guest then taught part-time at Falmouth School of Art. Continuing to develop his practice as an artist at Chisenhale Studios at Chisenhale Art Place, 64-84 Chisenhale Road London and John’s work has often swung between very abstract and more figurative imagery. Around 2012 he moved from London to Sudbury in Suffolk and in 2014 joined Gainsborough's House Print Workshop and has been concentrating on etching and lino-printing. A member of Sudbury Art Collective and he has exhibited widely including locally with Mill Tye Gallery.
