ROGERS, Emma

? - ?

Emma Rogers grew up in Elmswell, a village near Bury St Edmund's in Suffolk and has attended art classes and workshops run by local artists, honing her skills and developing an individual style. Emma been experimenting artistically and, in the past, has produced commissioned portraits but has discovered a love for working in a more intuitive and expressive manner. Emma is a nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich hospital and now lives in Norfolk with a small studio at her home where she works in her spare time painting. Having a creative outlet allows her a sense of peace and tranquility outside of her hectic work life which is heavily influenced by her surroundings which include the Broadland forests and the north Norfolk coast. Her large oil paintings feature streaks of gold leaf, the layered earthy tones complement a neutral interior, whilst the gold accents make a decadent statement. Working in oils allows her the freedom to layer and scrape into the canvas, developing unique marks and textures. Emma has shown with Art in East Anglia.
