RED STUDIO

The Red Studio

Red Studio sits in the grounds of The Red House, Golf Lane, Aldeburgh, Suffolk, the home of the composer Benjamin Britten and the tenor Peter Pears. The bungalow was commissioned in 1963 for Mary Potter, an artist and friend of Britten and Pears. In recent years, Red Studio has been used as accommodation for artists visiting/working with Britten Pears Arts. The attached studio has enabled artists to use the space as a ‘creative retreat’. Red Studio has recently been refurbished and the property makes a wonderful base from which to explore Aldeburgh with the sea being minutes away. This gallery has now permanently closed. Suffolk artists who exhibited at the Red Studio include Robert Sadler.
