WARNER, Howard Francis
Howard Francis Warner was born at Marylebone, London on 8 May 1881, son of Francis Warner, a physician & surgeon, and his wife Louisa Loder née Howard (1851-1926), who was born in Baghdad, and married at Hampstead in 1880. Howard studied for the medical profession in the London Hospital, MB, BSc, LRCP, MRCS, and on 24 September 1907 he married firstly at St Matthew's Church, Upper Clapton, London, Ethel Laura Hopkins (1885-29 March 1920), only daughter of John Hopkins of Stoke Newington, when the married couple moved to The Square, Fakenham, Norfolk where Francis was the medical officer for the Raynham district of Norfolk. Howard's wife died in 1920 and he married secondly at North Barsham, Fakenham on 25 September 1921, Florence Irene Whall (born 18 April 1890) and 1933-1939 a doctor living at 12 Northgate Street, Beccles, Suffolk with his wife Florence. Howard studied at the Norwich School of Art and was a watercolour painter who exhibited at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours in 1940 from Beccles, Suffolk and was a council member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle 1936-1947 from Beccles. Howard Francis Warner died at Methlick Nursing Home, Warley Hill, Brentwood, Essex on 20 October 1954, aged 73. One of his watercolours was sold at Durrant's of Beccles in 2015.
