BLAKE, John
John William Blake had no formal ar training but started painting around 2005 by purchased a special offer in W H Smith's of an acrylic starter set, as that seemed to be the easiest to use for a beginner. He then discovered evening classes organised through the Eye Arts Guild which he joined and where he met other artists. He went on art courses run by Sylvia Philpot and completed several paintings and exhibiting and selling one or two each year. John William Blake lived at 10 Bromelands, Eye, Suffolk and died on 24 September 2020. A memorial exhibition of his work was held at Bank Arts Centre in 2022.
