Chrissy Norman

Chrissy Norman was born in Suffolk and has a background of watercolour painting and studied at Central St Martin's School of Art, Gainsborough's House Print Workshop and began printmaking at Suffolk College in 1999 and decided that etching offered scope for her to develop her drawing along with the experimental element that comes with all the processes. Chrissy is well-known for her etchings and colour aquatints and has now turned to monotypes and carborundum prints for larger, less detailed work. Her work has been purchased for the collections of The Palace of Westminster and Colchester & Ipswich Museums and she has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition also exhibits with Cambridge Contemporary Gallery, 6 Trinity Street, Cambridge; Quay Art Gallery, 4 The Granary, High Street, Blakeney, Norfolk and other galleries in Norfolk, Cambridge, and Suffolk. Chrissy works from her studio at Orford, close to the Suffolk coast and has been a member of Sudbourne Park Printmakers since 2006 and now runs regular etching courses at the Sudbourne workshops.
