GEEDON GALLERY
Geedon Gallery, Jaggers, Fingringhoe, Essex is situated in a sympathetically and attractively converted Essex Barn, overlooking the Geedon Creek in Essex after which the gallery is named. Co-owners are Jacqueline Wolfers, a picture restorer and painter and widow of David Wolfers of the New Grafton Gallery, and Caroline Bailey Knox, who prior to being involved with the Geedon Gallery ran the D’Arcy Gallery in Tolleshunt D’Arcy for 12 years. The gallery specialises in promoting 20th and 21st Century modern British artists and sculptors of national and international repute, in East Anglia and mounts two major exhibitions a year in the Spring and Autumn. At the gallery picture restorer Jacqueline Wolfers who trained in Florence in the Gabinetto del Restauro at the Uffizi for five years 1963-1968 and has been a picture restorer of oil and tempera paintings for over forty years. Suffolk artists who exhibited with the Geedon Gallery include Carl Borges, Kate Giles, Margaret Glass, Belinda King and Jenny Thompson.
