BOHUN GALLERY
Bohun Gallery at 15 Reading Road, Henley-on-Thames was established, originally on Station Road, by Patricia Mary Jordan Evans (1945-) in 1973 and within 18 months of the gallery opening John Egerton Christmas Piper (1903-1992) and Elisabeth Jean Frink had joined, soon followed by Ivon Hitchens, Elizabeth Violet Blackadder (1931-2021) and David Hockney (1937-). The Bohun Gallery is renowned for its enduring links with artists Adye Mary Fedden (1915-2012) and Julian Otto Trevelyan (1910-1988) when Patricia met the couple in their studio during the late 70s and there began a long happy working relationship and great friendship. The gallery displayed contemporary and modern British painting, prints and sculpture with between 8 and 10 exhibitions annually. It closed with its final exhibition in March 2019. Other Suffolk artist who exhibited with the Bohun Gallery include Tessa Fuchs, Olwen Jones and John Reay.
