SOUTH QUAY GALLERY
Yare Gallery, South Quay, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk opened in 2021 and was reliant on funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the government's Culture Recovery Fund, all of which was reduced in 2023 when the gallery used a different model of renting the space to artists and creatives to hold exhibitions. The gallery closed in 2024 and placed on the market by the Great Yarmouth Preservation Trust. The Yare Gallery building was sold into the private ownership of arts photographer Peter and Moira Huggins who opened as the South Quay Gallery on 4 April 2026. The South Quay Gallery is a brand new creative space in the heart of Great Yarmouth which brings together a dedicated exhibition space, a small and welcoming café, and a light-filled area for workshops and classes. Suffolk artists who exhibited at the Yare Gallery include Rosemary Elliott; Laura Such; Emilia Symis and Ally Zawadzki.
