SERPENTINE GALLERY
Serpentine Gallery in Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, central London takes its name from the nearby Serpentine Lake. Serpentine now displays contemporary art across two sites in Kensington Gardens. Serpentine South and Serpentine North which are a short distance apart, on either side of the Serpentine Bridge. Serpentine South concentrates on exhibiting modern and contemporary art and is one of London's best-loved and most visited smaller galleries attracting three-quarters of a million visitors a year. Set up in 1970 it is housed in a classical 1934 tea pavilion and has shown the works of world-renowned artist who include Man Ray, Henry Moore, Andy Warhol, Paula Rego, Bridget Riley, Damien Hirst, and Jeff Koons. The gallery also houses at its entrance a permanent work by Ian Hamilton Finlay dedicated to Diana, Princess of Wales, the Serpentine's former patron.

The Serpentine Sackler Gallery opened in 2013 and in 2021 changed its name to Serpentine North. Located five minutes' walk from Serpentine South across the Serpentine Bridge, it comprises nearly 10,000 square feet of gallery space, a restaurant, a shop and social space.
