EAST CONTEMPORARY ART COLLECTION
East Contemporary Art Collection was founded by artists Robert Priseman (1965-) and Simon Carter (1961-) in 2013 and contains over 160 works of art by over 115 artists and was formed to make the first public collection of contemporary art in the East of England. Artists represented in the collection all have a working connection with the seven east of England counties of Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, Bedfordshire, and Hertfordshire; the list of artists includes Maggi Hambling, Amanda Ansell, James Dodds, Susan Gunn (1965-), Nicholas Middleton (1975-), Justin Partyka (1972-), Anne Schwegmann-Fielding (1967-), Delia Tournay-Godfrey, Linda Ingham (1964-), Stephen James Newton (1948-) and Mary Webb. The works of art in the collection were all produced after the year 2000 and are designed to be available for public display and as a learning resource for the university and students from the wider educational community. The collection is housed at the University of Suffolk and is exhibited at the Waterfront Gallery.
