Tony James Lodge was born in Suffolk. After leaving art school Tony started a career as a freelance commercial illustrator and over 20 years amassed a portfolio of diverse clients and subjects and developed a mainstay of medical, cookery and children’s illustrations for leading publishers. His return to Suffolk led to an indulgence of painting for pleasure, with the absence of a client brief or deadline, which shows in his colourful effervescence and unrestricted paintings. A stylised colour artist in acrylic on board or canvas.
