Julie Graham graduated in Graphic Design from Colchester School of Art and Design in 2012, where she developed a particular interest in printmaking. Julie has developed her personal screen-printing project ‘Little Fox Press’, whilst also working as a freelance Graphic Designer. Julie is silkscreen artist whose inspiration comes from the Suffolk countryside near her cottage. Julie creates screen printed limited editions and textiles, just the briefest glimpse of animal or bird can be a motivating force, as can the reclaimed materials she works with. She sources wools and cottons from local shops and market stalls, while also scouring car boot sales and vintage markets for old sheet music and books. Her original fox designs have expanded to include many of Britain’s wonderful animals, illustrations of badgers, squirrels and hares which now adorn her ever growing designs for prints, cards, and cushions. Originally drawn with an acute attention to her mark-making, reworking the drawings in ink until she is satisfied with the finished image, which she then transfers to a screen ready to be hand printed. She exhibited at the International Mini Print Exhibition in 2017 at Wingfield Barns also showing at Norwich Print Fair and at Bell Gallery in Bungay, Suffolk.
