FOSTER, Vivienne
Vivienne Foster was born in Riding, West Yorkshire in 1936, daughter of Charles J. Foster and his wife Dorothy J. née Bowes, who married at Wakefield in 1930. Vivienne studied at St Martin's School of Art. Her first exhibition was in 1961, with her first solo show in 1966. She has exhibited at the Woodstock Gallery (1958-1984), 16 Woodstock Street, London, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters and the Phoenix Art Gallery in Lavenham. She moved to Suffolk in 1971 and stopped teaching in 1980 to paint full time. Vivienne Foster died in Lavenham, Suffolk on 18 February 2014.
