MEADE, Clare
Clare Nicola Meade was born in London in 1957, daughter of Harry Peter Meade (1918-8 October 1988) and his wife Dorothy Jean née Sampson (1924-18 December 2012), who married at Hampstead in 1953. Clare studied at Trent Polytechnic 1981-1983 for a B.A. (hons) in Fine Art and at Reading University 1981-1983 for her master's in fine and studio art and took her Doctorate in Education from the University of East Anglia and has since worked in Senior Education positions in East Anglia and is Senior Associate at the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education. A fine artist who starts from drawings and observing the objects and landscapes around her. Using collage to cover and reveal layers of the creative journey, memories, and layers of life. Often scratching through paint to reveal the surface of the paper or the colours under the surface. A member of Suffolk Open Studios from The Elms Barn, Rushmere, Lowestoft.
