HORNER, Cedric
Cedric Greyleigh Horner was born at Thirsk, Yorkshire on 11 April 1937, son of Agnes Beryl Horner (2 August 1908/10-1991), who in 1939 was a domestic in the service of the Fairburn family of farmers at The Hollies, Laurel Hay Farm Road, Woodhead, Addingham, Ilkley, Yorkshire. Cedric studied at Leeds College of Art followed by the Royal College of Art in 1959. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and at the Rye Art Gallery in 1997. He married at Leeds in 1960, Janet Valerie Oldfield (born 1938) and their daughter is Polly Horner, the writer and illustrator. Cedric Greyleigh Horner died at Garden Cottage, Wittersham Road, Rye, East Sussex in 2003.
