OUTEN, Cathy

As Catherine Dora King-Cline, she married at Hendon, Middlesex in 1997 Julian Alan Outen, a solicitor, and works as Cathy Outen. Working with clay has always been Cathy's passion, the feel of it in her hands as a simple ball of clay is transformed into its finished ceramic form. She works with stoneware clays in her Ipswich garden-studio experimenting with a variety glazes and firings to create contrasting colours, finishes, and textures. All her work is individually handmade and is lovingly made with hand-rolled coils of clay. Focusing on the tactile nature of the materials building pleasing curves that people will want to reach out and touch. This can be seen with the curvaceous forms of her Apples and Pears collection first created for Art For Cure'. She exhibits with Arteast
