NKUGWA, Sarah
Sarah Louise Nkugwa was born in October 1980. Sarah studied at the University of Suffolk 2003-2004 for her B.A. in Graphic Design and at Suffolk New College 2018-2020 for a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education. In 2015 she founded Pop Print Studio, and is a contemporary printmaker, graphic designer and educator living and working in Ipswich. Her focus is on traditional printmaking with a specialist in screen printing working spontaneously, responding to thoughts, sound, and movement in real time. In 2021 she founded, directed and managed the Hive Ipswich CIC, a grassroots based organisation, developing a multi-functional creative space in the heart of Ipswich and is currently director at AMPP Studio CIC. Her work is inspired by human connection, positivity and imperfection and her multi-disciplinary practice spans across drawing, printmaking, and collage every piece being unique. She also spends time working on freelance projects and teaching workshops. A member of Suffolk Open Studios from 53 Newton Road, Ipswich.
