Sophy Therese Pilkington married in 1991 Michael Day and works as Sophy Day. Sophy studied at Byam Shaw School of Art and City and Guilds of London Art School in Decorative and Fine Arts in London during the 1980s and went on to specialise in mural work and trompe l’oeil. Having lived in locations worldwide, she used to sell photographs through agencies prior to digitalisation also keeping painting sketchbooks, occasionally exhibiting, and continuing to work on surface design. Moving from mural and decorative interior work, she began with simple botanical illustration and progressed into new areas of colour and techniques and mediums. Her subject matters are mostly found from plant landscapes and nature, bold outlines are a perfect structural base for an exploration into the myriad of colours to be found and heightened by different light sources. She currently (2020) works from Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk.
