Rowe & Williams opened their Gallery in High Street, Yoxford, Suffolk in early 2017 specialising in modern & contemporary art inspired by or made in Suffolk and East Anglia. Husband and wife team Matthew Rowe and Hilary Williams have each worked in the arts for over twenty-five years at both a national level, Matthew at the Tate Gallery and Hilary with the Crafts Council, and both had managed smaller regional galleries and both Matthew and Hilary have also led organisations through award winning capital projects in Sussex. Hilary still works on a freelance basis as a museum consultant and is currently working for The Garden Museum in the development of Benton End in Suffolk, the former home and garden of Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-Haines and the East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing. Their gallery is spread over two floors which display of a range of paintings, drawings and prints that celebrate the sense of place of Suffolk and its extraordinary landscape. Many of the artists shown have work included in national and regional collections and they offer the opportunity to have a little piece of Suffolk at home.
