GEE, Eric
Eric D Gee was born in Cambridgeshire in 1952, son of Henry James Percy Gee (2 June 1902-1982), a drainage engineer, and his wife Rose née Sharpe (5 April 1910-3 May 1994), who married at Bury St Edmund's, Suffolk in 1938 and in 1939 were living at The Gravel, West Row, Mildenhall, Suffolk. On leaving school, Eric was apprenticed in the Technical Publications Department of Marshalls of Cambridge gaining his Advanced City and Guilds in Technical Graphics. He then joined Howard Rotovators as their manuals illustrator and about 1985 became a freelance, illustrating farm machinery, patent submissions and housing submissions throughout East Anglia. He married at Bury St Edmund's in 1991, Brenda Robinson and about 2017 he retired and returned to the freedom of painting in oils from his studio in Bury St Edmund's. In 2022 he exhibited at the Apex Gallery in Bury St Edmund's a selection of some forty of his works of Norfolk and Suffolk, the profits going to the Doxa Charity for social care in Nakura, Kenya.
