BEVAN, Harriet Gurney
Harriet Gurney Bevan was baptised at St Peter's Church, Sudbury, Suffolk on 18 May 1848, daughter of William Robert Bevan (18 January 1812-9 June 1890), a banker, and his wife Sarah Cowell née Rawlinson (14 March 1815-21 June 1891). Harriet provided the drawing of 'Plumpton House, Whepstead' which was their family home, which was engraved and used in Fulcher's Suffolk Pocket Book for 1876. As Miss H. Bevan of Plumpton, she exhibited at the Bury St Edmund's Fine Art Society in 1882. Harried married at Bletchingly, Godstone, Surrey on 25 July 1894, Revd William Chatterley Bishop (1853-1922), who was rector of the parish and in 1921 they were living at 18 Raby Place, Bath, Somerset. Harriet Gurney Bishop died at Meadowside, Merstham, Reigate, Surrey on 20 May 1940
