TRICKER, Leonard Phillips
Leonard Phillips Tricker was born at 34 High Street, Hadleigh, Suffolk in 1881, second son of Joseph Sage Tricker (c1850-24 May 1938), a grocer's assistant, and his wife Emily Kingsbury née Phillips (1853-31 January 1922), a china & glass dealer, who married at St Mary's Church, Boxford, Suffolk on 9 September 1873. Leonard was educated at Hadleigh Boys' British School and studied at the Ipswich School of Art passing examinations 1904-1909 and where his fellow students included Constance Lacey, Madelyn Walker and Margaret Mary Tempest. He also passed the examinations at South Kensington School of Art Art Class Teacher's Certificate and Art Master's Certificate and in 1911, a 29-year-old 'art teacher' still living at 34 High Street, Hadleigh with his parents. A teacher of painting at the West Suffolk Higher Education Council. Leonard Phillips Tricker died at Hadleigh on 11 December 1915, aged 34, he was unmarried.
