SLOAN, Sarah Elizabeth
As Sarah Elizabeth Rash, she was born at Woking, Surrey on 6 February 1952, daughter of Eric Douglas Rash (1 June 1904-1987) and his wife Phyllis Eileen née Young (4 May 1909-15 February 1909), who married Rochford, Essex in 1936. Sarah married at Gipping, Suffolk in 1980 Derek Scott Sloan and works as Sarah Sloan. Sarah commenced with textile design also working for a card & giftwrap company and has also designed stage sets. A self-taught artist in oil and water-based paint, Sarah has had solo exhibitions at Stark Gallery, London and Burgh House Museum, Hampstead. Her other shows include the Royal College of Art; Mall Galleries; Mariners Gallery and Crypt Gallery, both St Ives, Cornwall; Great Glemham, Suffolk; the Suffolk Show and elsewhere. Sarah has her studio at Orchard House, Gosbeck, Ipswich.
