Kasia Hobson

Katherine Margaret Trojanowska Hobson was born at Kidderminster, Worcestersshire in 1993, daughter of Peter R. Hobson, who worked for the Forestry Commission, and his wife Malgorzata Ewa née Trojanowska, who married at Worcester in 1986, a sister to both Ania Hobson and Thom Hobson. Kasia was educated at Thomas Mills School, Framlingham, Suffolk and studied at University College for Creative Arts, Canterbury. Kasia is a self-taught artist working from her studio at Church Street, Rendham, Saxmundham, Suffolk. Her work is a continuation of her research into modern feminism, the mind and battles of expectations of the female in contemporary culture. Often seeing strong, central compositions, sometimes with wrung fingers or contorted faces hinting at tropes of either power of struggles which leads the viewer to questions of concern or feelings of concurrence. Kasia works with oil on canvas, with occasional sgraffito from pencil adding to the depth of the work. She has exhibited at Framlingham and at the Fishing Quarter Gallery, Brighton.
