MOUND, Chris
Christopher A. Mound was born at Tavistock, Devon in 1954, son of Adrian T. Mound and his wife Joan M. Goodchild, who married at Ipswich in 1953. Chris studied at the Ipswich School of Art 1973-1975 and at the Central School of Arts & Design in London 1975-1977. He commenced his artistic career in ceramics before taking up textiles and then printmaking. Chris makes small editions of hand printed woodcuts using traditional European and Oriental techniques, adapting them as appropriate to the subject matter. The inspiration for his work is drawn from nature and the images are based on the little moments that grab attention when active. Chris married in the Hartismere district of Suffolk in 1982, Anne E. Hammond. A member of the Suffolk Craft Society, the Guild of Spinners and Weavers and of the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail from Hill Farm, Syleham, Eye, Suffolk.
