WOOD, Edith Mary
Edith Mary Wood was born on 19 June 1891. An Associate of the Royal College of Art and in 1920 joined the staff of the Ipswich School of Art and extended the curriculum to include calligraphy and embroidery. In 1939, an unmarried assistant art teacher, living at 23 Westerfield Road, Ipswich, the home of Miss Edith Alice Lewcock (30 November 1886-17 November 1973). As Miss Edith M. Wood, A.R.C.A., she exhibited at the Ipswich Art Club in 1943, 'a panel of decorative writing'. Edith Mary Wood died at Kingsliffe Nursing Home, Duffield Road, Derby on 25 October 1982, she was unmarried.
