WILSON, William Anthony

1814 - 1873

William Anthony Wilson, was born at Lambeth, Surrey on 7 August 1814, son of George Wilson and his wife Ann. William married at Marylebone, London on 15 April 1833, Clara Ann Foster and in 1851, was a 34 year old artist, living at Surrey Place, St George the Martyr, Southwark, London with his 36 year old wife Clara and their six children, William J. 17, Clara E. 13, Hance 10, Emily Adelaide 8, Mariah Hawthorn 6 and Ernest Hance Hector 2. William exhibited at the Suffolk Fine Arts Association [q.v.] at Ipswich in 1850, two works 'Mills and Amiens' and 'Edinburgh Castle'. In 1871, a 56 year old widower 'artist', living at 16 York Terrace, Islington, the home of his 28 year old married daughter Emily Adelaide Perry and her husband. He died at Marylebone, London in 1873.
