GOOCH, Amabel Purefoy Faulkner

1899 - 1954

As Amabel Purefoy Faulkner Paine, she was born at Weston, Hertfordshire on 25 March and baptised at Weston on 30 April 1899, eldest child of Revd Nigel Wood Paine and his wife Mabel Beatrice née Tylston, who married at St Albans, Hertfordshire on 11 January 1898. In 1911, a 12 year old living, at the Rectory, Great Melton, Norfolk with her parents Nigel 40 and Mabel 33, with two sibling brothers, Ronald Wood 8 and Humphrey John 5, who were both born at Great Melton. Amabel married at Henstead, Norfolk in 1929, Charles Huddleston Gooch (12 September 1902-15 November 1983), who died at 28 Brook Street, Woodbridge, Suffolk. Amabel was a member and exhibitor at the Norfolk & Norwich Art Circle from Market Weston, Suffolk 1949-1951. She was of Tigh-nan-Gaoth, Onich, Inverness when she died at Belford Hospital, Fort William, Inverness on 1 September 1954 and buried in Innis-na-Bhirlin cemetery in Scotland.
