ANSON, Louisa Frances Mary
As Louisa Frances Mary Dickenson, she was baptised at Taxall, Cheshire on 28 June 1787, only child of John Dickenson and his wife Mary née Hamilton. Louisa married on 26 January 1815, William Anson (13 August 1772–1847), later Sir William, 1st Baronet, a general in the British Army and noted for his service in the Peninsular War and created a baronet 'of Birch Hall' on 30 September 1831. They lived at Grundisburgh Hall, near Ipswich and Louisa was a pupil, as was a Miss Anson of Grundisburgh Hall, of artist Henry Bright and included in her artist friends were Lady Arethusa Harland of Orwell Park, Ipswich, the Arcedeckne family of Glevering Hall, the Campbell family of Birkfield, Ipswich, the Martin family of Hemingstone Hall, the Middleton family of Shrubland Hall, Ipswich and Lady Rendlesham and Miss Thelusson of Rendlesham Hall. Lady Louisa Frances Mary Anson died at Birch Hall, Lancashire on 25 July 1837.
