COLLER, Dorothy

1905 - 1989

Dorothy Coller, was born at Ipswich on 19 February 1905, eldest daughter of Edward Henry Coller, draughtsman in the land valuation revenue office, and his wife Margaret Alice née Haggar, who married at Ipswich in 1902, a sister to Joan Coller. In 1911, a 6 year old, living at 58 Foxhall Road, Ipswich with her parents, 35 year old Edward Henry and 32 year old Margaret Alice, with sibling sister Marjorie Joan 3. In 1909 she was admitted at Clifford Road School, Ipswich proceeding to Ipswich Municipal Secondary/Northgate Grammar/High School in 1913. She exhibited at the Ipswich Fine Art Society from 67 Corder Road, Ipswich in 1923 a watercolour, 'A Summer Garden'. Dorothy married at Ipswich in 1930, Roland Oxford Davies, a newspaper contractor, and in 1939 they were living at 118 Valley Road, Ipswich with their daughter Jean [later Benson] (born 20 August 1932). Dorothy Davies died at Ealing, London in 1989.
